'Can Olive Garden be fixed?' Quit snickering, foodies
Tue Jan 24, 2012
I'd like to see more dishes with marinara sauce instead of everything always being heavy cream and cheese sauces. And bring back the darned french fries! I'm all for adding healthy side options, but why do you have to get rid of french fries? Leave it up to us to decide.
Should breast-feeding be shown on Sesame Street?
Fri Jan 13, 2012
Why does everyone think you need to expose your breast to breastfeed your child? Many of us manage to do this in a discreet way that does not expose anything publicly. This is just part of child-raising for many mothers. It's a shame that it has to be such a big deal.
Parents admit denying medical care for dying child
Wed Jan 11, 2012
Most states have laws that prevent medical treatment of minors except in cases of emergencies without consent of the child's parent or guardian.
E. coli- tainted venison kabobs sicken Minn. students
Wed Jan 11, 2012
The contaminants might not have even come from the roadkill. They could have come from the teenage boy's unwashed hands even. The problem was the cooking method used. Had the meat been cooked to the proper temperature, the bacteria would have been killed.
Automakers shedding CD players
Tue Jan 10, 2012
I'm 46 and I think I've used the CD player in my car less than 5 times in the 5 years I've owned it. All the CDs I own have been loaded into my iTunes library (thousands of hours of music that I've already paid for over many many years). New music I purchase music directly through iTunes.
Breast-feeding at work now protected by law
Wed Jan 4, 2012
For years I've watched smokers take numerous on-the-clock breaks to go outside and have a cigarette, and yet a mom wanting to feed her baby the way nature intended is a big deal? While I'm not so sure the law needs to cover actually having a baby come in to be breastfed, I am in favor of laws that …
Ohio boy who weighed 200 pounds to live with uncle
Wed Dec 14, 2011
Did you miss the part about Social Services working with the family for A YEAR before resorting to this extreme measure? They didn't just walk up to the family one day and take the kid.
US Mint says goodbye to $1 presidential coins
Tue Dec 13, 2011
They didn't "forget" to print In God We Trust. It was inscribed on the edge of the coin rather than the front or back. So if you boycotted the coins because of this, shame on you. Not too hard a fact to check. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/dollarcoin.asp
Working moms are healthier, happier, study finds
Mon Dec 12, 2011
Yeah, sounds like a troll. As if people's life situations never change, due to illness, job loss, divorce, death - any number of factors can negatively impact a family financially.
Rome to repave cobblestone streets for women's heels
Mon Dec 12, 2011
No need to outlaw heels - just practice common sense. When I used to commute on the subway into Boston and have to walk those streets, I wore sneakers until I got into the office, then put on my heels. Simple and cost-effective.
